Highs and Low of EPL Week 30

Midweek CL
Man City is the only EPL team left in the q-final draw after they drew 0-0 with D Kyiv at Etihad with a 3-1 aggregate. Arsenal, as usual went out against a rampant MSN (Messi, Suarez, Neymar) Barcelona by aggregate 5-1. The trio scored  a goal each at Nou Camp to knock out Arsenal.

Europa League
The Red devils just could not recover from the first leg 2-0 loss at Anfield and went out to Klopp's Liverpool 3-1 aggregate. Another door shut against LvG's side and they surely now need the FA Cup to salvage a poor season. This week, they visit a buoyant Man City in the Manchester derby.

Liverpool is now the only EPL team in the Europa league after Spurs crashed against B Dortmund.

The top 3 teams won this week before the 2 weeks international break. Leicester is still very resilient in their 1-0 win over Palace while Spurs is going on strength to strength in 3-0 win over Bournemouth. The big loser is Man City who lost in the Manchester derby at Eithad. The only Mancurian in the Red Devils side, Marcus Rashford scored a brilliant winning goal. He is also the youngest player to score in this derby. He is one of the few saving graces in LvG side this season.

Highs and Lows of EPL Week 29

UCL
As expected it was curtains-up for Chelsea who lost both legs 2-1 to PSG.

Europa League
Paul Scholes called the Utd team ' in shambles, did not have a clue what they were trying to do....' Yes, the Red devils were that lousy against a vibrant Liverpool team at Anfield, losing 2-0 in the first leg. Not a performance befiting the Red Devils short they were wearing.
Spurs were thrashed 3-0 at B Dortmund

In the FA Cup, the Red Devils did no better than a 1-1 draw with a vibrant West Ham side at Old Trafford in the q-finals. Arsenal, the 2 time defending champion were koed by Watford.

Leicester had the look of champions with a simple 1-0 win over Newcastle. This was Rafa Benitez's first match after taking over from Steve McClaren.
In such a form, only Spurs has a chance to make a run for the title with 9 matches to go.

Highs and Lows of EPL Week 28

Midweek:
Leicester was stopped in its track temporary when WBA fought back to draw 2-2. Chelsea continued its revival under Hindink with a 2-1 win over Norwich,
However all the other title contenders lost!!!
Arsenal stunned by Swansea at Emirates 2-1, Spurs by West Ham 1-0 and Man City thrashed by Liverpool 3-0 after winning the Capital One Cup over the same opponent three days ago. The Gunners are showing their brittleness once again when the 'squeaky bum time' is around.
Juan Mata scored a late goal against Watford to give hope to LvG and surges for a CL place once again. This time, Marcus Rashford didn't score.

Weekend:
Just when we thought that the Red devils are on the rise, they succumbed to WBA at Hawthorns 1-0 after Juan Mata was sent off for two silly yellow cards. This is the first home victory for the Baggies iver Utd since March 1984!! The euphoria over Rashford died as he struggled, like what LvG expected. The next four games in 13 days will define Utd's and LvG's season as they battle for FA Cup, Europa Cup and then derby against Man City in the league.
Leicester benefited the most with their 1-0 win over Watford as Spurs and Arsenal drew.
